Yes. The coursework is challenging. Students who experience the most success in the courses have prior experience in directing or related crafts i.e., acting, screenwriting, producing, cinematography, editing, or production design. If you are uncertain about your experience level, schedule an interview with Rob to discuss this in detail to determine if the course is the right fit for you.

Yes. In the interests of a robust exchange of ideas, the coursework provides opportunities for students to interact related to specific course ideas and concepts.

Yes. Rob will give firsthand critique on all completed assignments.

Rob teaches every minute of every class. There are no other instructors.

It is my expectation that students attend each class. However, in the event that a class is missed, Rob will make every best effort to ensure that missed materials and information are passed on to the students via email, phone, or Zoom.

All classes are taught on Zoom.

I recommend keeping the assignments low-tech for reasons of economy and ease of execution. Most students use their phones to shoot the required material.

Classes meet once a week on a designated day and time. Class meetings consist of lectures, demonstrations, illustrations, and opportunities for students to execute hands-on shooting assignments.
